Hello,

I have a OMAP3530 board similar to the EVM on which the MMC/SD card detect goes to the TPS69520 GPIO1. With no card inserted, I see the card detect line go low about 10 times a second. I assume that the Linux driver is responsible, but is it possible that there's a significant difference in the configuration registers between the EVM TWL4030 power IC (for which I could not find docs) and the TPS69520 which might cause this behavior?

Hi John,

GPIOs are controlled by software, so your assumption is fair.

This device is the same family as TWL4030 and the internal registers for GPIOs should be the same (except reduced number of GPIOs).

Looks like it was a hardware issue. I found that the SD card detect pull-up was tied to VMMC instead of an always-on supply, so it cycled as the driver turned on and off the power.
