Hi Mr. Nadarajah:

It seems the external 12V must be connected for the EM1402 EVM to work?

Do you know what happens when both the external 12V and the 16 cells discharge?

Hi Elda,

Yes, the EM1402 will not work without the 12V battery.

Ideally, this situation will be avoided by keeping up with balancing/charging demands. If they are both discharged then one should be charged before balancing occurs, otherwise you run the risk of depleting one of the packs/cells too much

Hi because you mention I should charge atleast one when both become discharged is this because 12V is somehow used during the actual cell balancing?
