BQ24074: Query on: Maximum continuous input current at AC input

Hello,

I have a bit of confusion in the terminology used in the BQ24074 datasheet, please let me get clarity on the following:

In the above image specs provided are of BQ24074 IC. 

My question is: Can I use this IC for my 2.5A Load application ?? Will the IC provide 2.5A supply in parallel while charging Battery with minimum possible charging current ??

    Hello
    The max input current is limited to 1.5A. This current is divided between the load and battery charging. Load has priority, if voltage at OUT drops charge current to battery is reduced.
    But 2.5A IN to OUT / BAT is not possible.
