Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24050
Hello everybody,
I had an issue when using BQ24050 but it was not solved so I respost it now.
I have an issue when using BQ24050 as it is in the picture below:
This circuitry, powers a LDO which regulates voltage to 3V3 while powering in parallel a modem to the battery voltage level.
The point is, the BQ24050 does not work without battery plugged. I have 5V in the input, but 0,9V on SYS, so my system cannot boot. When I plug a Li-Ion battery, it charges perfectly. If I remove 5V from main power, the system is powered through battery pack transparently, so perfect as well.
If I remove the battery or I boot the system without it, BQ24050 never boots, so 5V are blocked at the input and I only have 0,9V on SYS pin... I cannot read I2C registers regarding my MCU is working at 3V3 and
my system cannot be powered only from 5V... But regardless of the fact my MCU is not powered (I can power it whether I attach the battery...), It is not working on I2C to configure BQ24050, so BQ has to work standalone.
This is very weird regarding I want a very simple behaviour as a SAI. I cannot find what is happening and this is very important issue because this project is about to mass production...
Could anyone help me?
Best regards,
