WEBENCH® Tools/TPS562201: ERROR * Invalid node locked license for host

Part Number: TPS562201

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

I am trying to use the Webench connector for Altium. When I click "Activate" it says it is already activated. When I run a simulation it says:

* ERROR * Unable to check out license for simulation. (LICENSE-1)

* ERROR * Invalid node locked license for host...

* ERROR * Please install the new license file into the path:...

I see others have had the issue before and been sent license files. Can this be done through this forum or should I request by some other means?

Thank you, Mark

ERROR * Invalid node locked license for host

  • Hi Mark,

We will soon get back to you on this query.

  • Hi Mark,

This looks like a WEBENCH connector license issue. Since you are not directed to “Login page” while trying to Activate, there could be some license issue with the already installed WEBENCH connector.

Please try to uninstall the already installed WEBENCH connector from Altium.
    Please follow the steps below:
    1. Open Altium Designer and Select “Extension and Updates”.
    2. Click on “Installed” and then “Software Extension” to find out already installed “WEBENCH Connector”.
    3. Click “WEBENCH” and uninstall.
    4. Restart Altium Designer.
    5. Please follow the guidelines for reinstallation from http://www.ti.com/lit/ml/snvu481/snvu481.pdf

This time you shall be redirected to TI Login page. Please login to receive the new activation code.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Suganya S

  • Thank you for your reply.

I followed all of your steps removing and re-installing the extension. From the Webench menu when I click on activate it says it is already activated and no redirection to the TI web page.

    For ref: Altium 17.1.9

    Connector Version: 1.0.0.70

Can this licencing be achieved manually?

  • Hi Mark,

  • Hi Mark,

    Apologies for delayed reply.

Please follow the below steps to clear the Registry that holds the old activation keys.

    1. Open ‘Run’ command, type regedit.exe

    2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Altium\Altium Designer {0F0213E9-89F7-4D56-8FF6-  F59551A2CC0B}\DesignExplorer\Preferences\WBSE\WBSE

    3. Delete the WBSE folder.

    4. Also delete the node_license file in your existing installation folder. This will make sure that when you are installing the extension, it requires a new activation key.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Suganya S
