TPS53667: Using with CSP pin is open

TPS5667 judge it is 6phase circuit even if it is 4phase circuit when CSP5 and 6 are open. CSP1 to 4 are connected to powerstage IOUT pin.

In this condition, I think we can write 03h to E4h register to make TPS53667 4phase operation.

Is this using method no problem though CSP5 and 6 are open?

And also, is there any concern if TPS53667 does 6phase operation with 4phase circuit?

    Hi Kohei,

    To set 4 phases on the TPS53667, CSP5 must be tied directly to 3.3V as it states on Table 3 of the datasheet (page 33). This tells the controller that only 4 phases are needed and not to expect connections to 6 power stages. In this case the state of CSP6 is up to you. It can be either left floating or also tied to 3.3V.
