Hi Folks,

My customer is measuiring about 0.5A during ECO mode in the attached plot. Can this current be reduce?

Hi Carlo,

The current when stepping into eco mode is determined by the combination of Vin, Vout and L. You could try different combinations, like decreasing Vin, increasing Vout or L.

Hello Ryan, the question was not so much when it enters eco mode but why is the peak to peak noise to much higher? This plot was taken at 0.4A static load. If you load across 10mA to 0.45A for example, the peak to peak noise is different. The comment that it enters <0.5A means that high chance the system will see the ripple.

The more important question is how to reduce the ripple?

Hi,
No good way to reduce the ripple, it's a character of a ECO-mode part. TPS54308 is a FCCM version part, which is the same family with TPS54302, if you does care about the ripple, you could use it.
