LM43603: About Input Capacitor

Part Number: LM43603
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMS3655

Hello,

Currently, due to difficulty in supplying ceramic capacitors,my customers are considering replacing them with electrolytic capacitors or conductive polymer capacitors.

Therefore, for the following parts,
Please tell me whether they can replace ceramic capacitors with electrolytic capacitors.
We appreciate your cooperation.

○ Input capacitor used for LM43603: Cin

The data sheet contains the following description.

"A high-quality ceramic type X5R or X7R with sufficiency voltage rating is recommended. "

Thank you.

  • Hello,

A similar response applies for LM43603 input capacitors as the LMS3655. It is recommended to use a high frequency capacitor and a lower value bulk ceramic (ie. 4.7uF) with both ceramics placed close to device along with a larger bulk capacitor.
