TPS65131-Q1 application issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65131-Q1

Hi, Everyone:

We take the TPS65131-Q1 to generate  6.5V/-6.5V . But when we overload AVEE current to about ~ -60mA
The TPS65131-Q1will enter power saving mode. Is it correct ?

Else if we try to disable (PSN=PSP="GND")power saving mode, It also couldn't be normally used.

(Maybe 30second to 2min it could be normally, but over this time it also be shutdown.)

We want to know how many overload current which could support?
Then we try to different application circuit, one could be used(there are the same circuit TBS65131-Q1 Power IC issue.xlsxstructure), but another couldn't.(please see the attached file)

Our production is for automotive.
Please kindly reply us, thanks a lot.

  • Hello user3803365,

Please excuse the late response. I expect AVEE is the -6.5V, correct? What is the input voltage you are using? 60mA should not be a problem for the device as the current limit supports a lot higher output voltages. Is it possible that the input voltage drops below UVLO?

    Best regards,
    Brigitte

  • Hi  Brigitte:

    Thanks for your reply.

Our input power is 3.3V (3.0~3.6V).

We have do somthing test, If we let 3.3V drop to around 2.7V, it will happen this issue.

Could it possibile resolve this issue when input power is 2.7V?
