WEBENCH® Tools/WEBENCH-POWER-DESIGNER: Unable to export from WEBENCH to ORCAD 17.2

Part Number: WEBENCH-POWER-DESIGNER

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi:

I looked through some other threads where WEBENCH-ORCAD export problems and methods have been discussed but could not resolve the issue - wondering what I missed. Attached is a WEBENCH design that I did an export of schematic for. The export to Eagle shows the schematic in all its glory,  but the export to ORCAD gives me completely unusable stuff. I used the provided cfg file. What did I do wrong?

TIA - RamOrcad.zip

  • Hi Ramkumar,

Please let us know if you were able to import the .cfg file and open the schematic design in the tool. Also please brief us on the issue you are facing.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Praveen B
  • Hi Praveen,

Thanks for offering to help. When I select the EDIF file and the accompanying cfg file and do an Import from ORCAD Capture  17.2, first I get a bunch of errors. Then when I opt to create a schematic project I get the schematic in the pdf attached. This is apparently not a scaling problem. What could I be missing? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.2018-06-28_08-11-32.pdf

  • Hi Dr.Ramkumar,

We are working on this.We will get back to you soon.

    Thanks & Regards,

  • Hi Dr.ramkumar,

These errors are showing up because the wires are not connected to the Jumpers properly as shown below. Currently, you can ignore these errors.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Praveen B

  • Hi:

Thanks for looking into this. Looking at the datasheet and typical application in the part datasheet, I believe these errors cannot be ignored.

Anyway, I had already gone ahead and recreated the schematic manually in ORCad.
