WEBENCH® Tools/UCC28070A: starting working of UCC28070

Part Number: UCC28070A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28070

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

My question is how the UCC28070 works at the beguinning of operation in simulation because no current is following therefore the PWM output are disabled and cannot active switch. the how we can start opertating the UCC28070 at beguenning of simualtion.

i use a shunt resistor instead of current transformer, then i cannot use your excel design tool for calculation of the components of the UCC28070, could you tell me if there are change in the formula given on datasheet by using shunt resistor.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your interest in UCC28070.

    1. Can you please point me to the Webench simulation that you are referring to. Also, UCC28070 will not operate until the Vcc bias is over 10V.
    2. Yes, you can use current sensing resistor instead of the current transformer. You will have to look at the dissipation in the current sensing resistors and also you will have to provide a good ground connection from the controller ground to the ground end of the resistors. This change will not be reflected in the value of any other component.

    Regards,
