BQ25606: BQ25606 What is the OUTPUT POWER of Vsys when the battery is not in use?

Part Number: BQ25606

Excuse me, BQ25606 What is the OUTPUT POWER of Vsys when the battery is not in use?

  • Allan,

When the battery is not presented, the maximum output power should be:
    1. Iin_max * Vin_DPM * efficnecy if Vin DPM is reached before Iin DPM. The Iin_max is maximum current the adaptor can provide.
    2. Iin_DPM * Vin_adp * efficiency if the Iin DPM is reached before Vin DPM. The Iin_DPM is the lower value of input current limit set by the register and ILIM pin, Vin_adp is the adaptor voltage.

    Regards,

    Eric
  • Suppose the current INPUT POWER is 5V/500mA. According to the calculation method you provided, it is about 5*0.5*0.93=2.325W, but I want to know the voltage of Vsys, not the power.

  • Hi Allan:

You want to know the VSYS voltage instead of VSYS power, correct? When battery is not present, there are 2 cases:
    (1) If charge is disabled (by CE pin), VSYS=3.68V
    (2) If charge is enabled (by CE pin), the system voltage will oscillate between charge and recharge voltage. That's because BAT pin voltage will be charged up and charge is terminated. After VBAT is discharged to recharge level, charger will be enabled. As a result, BAT and VSYS voltage will oscillate between fully charged and recharge voltages.
