EV2300 and bqEasy setup

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ20Z80

Hello,

I just ordered the EVM starter kit, installed the software and driver.  IT detects the EV2300 when I plug it in, but when I start the software, it doesn't autodetect the board (which I believe it is supposed to) and when I select the correct chip (bq20z80 V102) it tells me that the software wasn't designed for that chip, and won't read anything from it.  I can get a more descriptive error message if needed.  The only instructions I was able to find are that for the first time using it (which this is) you should "plug" in the leads from the battery pack to the Pack+ and Pack- leads.  I tried doing that, but it seems to make no difference at all.

I was mostly just wondering if there was a starter guide for someone who is new to this kind of work (it is a lot different than the FPGA's I am used to) with step by step instructions on how to get it running.

Thanks,

Allen

  • Hello again,

It turns out that the wrong version of the software was on the CD.  The first version I downloaded was for the wrong chip, and the version on the CD was too old I am guessing.  I downloaded the latest version and it has started wroking.
