BQ34110: Auto Learn Time cannot be set = 0

Part Number: BQ34110

We imagine we are going to turn off EOS' auto learn feature (Auto Learn Time set = 0) and initiate EOS periodically (perhaps daily) during float voltage mode once current drops below ~45 mA. But the TRM says "For the Initial RRate procedure to operate, the Auto Learn Time cannot be set = 0". "Auto Learn Time cannot be set = 0" means for automatic learning of RRate to occur or does that mean that we MUST set auto learn time non-zero for initial RRate to occur?

  • Hi Mark,

Per a comment in another of your threads, I'd recommend you don't use the RSD Rrate function, instead stick with DRD, which measures Rcell, and doesn't include the time between Rcell measurements in its calculations. The DRD approach does work with manual learning.

    Thanks,

    Terry
