TPS2662: overload event reaction

Part Number: TPS2662

Dear TI,

my company is planning to use the TPS2662 series in various different components.

We already ordered some samples to evaluate the chips to check if they are suitable for our applications.

But even though we ordered samples from the TPS26620 twice, the chips have different behaviour.

During an overload event some of the chips are acting as a constant current source until thermal shutdown kicks in. In the meantime the other chips just shut down the output immediately.

Upon inspection of the package codes we spotted some differences.

The first chips have the code PD00 758 AO5K (these are the ones with constant current) and the other chips have the code PD05 7B8 A8YI

Since the package codes aren't explained in the datasheet I would like to hear from you which chips we actually got and which code is for which chip.

kind regards

Marco Mueller
