TLC5958: TLC5958 LED Driver

Hi,

I started working on TLC5958 LED driver IC . I have connected the LEDs on OUT pins of the IC and controlling the IC through GPIO pins but not getting desired OUTPUT on out pins. I have checked the wave form on oscilloscope and everything seems perfect in wave form . but not getting anything on OUT pins of TLC5958. I also tried to read the Function Register data from SOUT pin but not getting the default data as excepted . I am stuck on this situation .

please Kindly provide me the solution of above problem.

Hi Kenneth,

I have tested the IC with the code that you provided but not getting anything on OUT pins of TLC5958. I have created a test circuit of TLC5958 . Can you please verify and let me know if its alright i am attaching the Semitics of the test circuit.

I am using 5 GPIO pins ( for LAT , SCLK , SIN, GCLK and SOUT pins ) to drive the LED driver. and using default configuration of function registers.

After sending the GS data i am also reading the data on SOUT pin. but not getting anything on SOUT pin .

Please let me know if you think I am missing something here.

Hi, Jaswant,

Sorry for the delay.

The circuit has no problem.

The SCLK rising edge shifts the data to the chip shift resister and SOUT should see the same date shift out.

Would you check the waveform of your SIN/SCLK/LAT/GCLK?
