Linux/BQ40Z50EVM-561: BQ40Z50EVM-561 not able to read data through linux kernel driver

Hi,

I bought BQ40Z50EVM-561 and connected with lithium ion battery in IMX6SOLOX board. I am able to read the data through i2ctool but when i want to load it as an kernel level driver. i found the driver in the below location. I added these files in kernel and compiled and booted. i could not see any battery data. Can some one help on this?

Hi Dhamodharan,

Unfortunately we don't provide code examples for accessing the registers. However, please note that the protocol is smbus. Perhaps you are violating some timeout considerations.

is there any changes required in dts file or need to add any configuration in dts file?

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with any config files that may be used. However, I do know that this is a standard SMBUS gauge (SMBUS is a subset of the i2c protocol). So, with standard comm drivers you should be able to talk to the gauge as well as any other SMBUS device. Please make sure that you are addressing the gauge at address 0x16. Maybe that's what you have incorrectly specified in the driver.
