Hello,

I am currently using a LT1054 to converter 9v to -9v for a analog audio circuit. It works great except for the low hiss/hum noise it produces. 

I was wondering if a LC filter after the output of the LT1054 followed by (LDO) TPS7A3401 would end up emanating most of the noise.

    It should, but I would like to suggest you to try to add a small ceramic capacitor (0.1uF, and/or 0.01uF) to your output capacitor, and see if the hiss is gone. Switch capacitors work with large ripple current and the small ceramic capacitor(s) can can help reduce the ripple voltage by providing the high frequency low impedance path.
