I would like to use TLV1117LV to support 4.5Vin/3.3Vout/1A application. Can this LDO support this condition?

    Hi Redick,

    heat dissipation will 1.2W then. Junction to ambient thermal resistance is 63°C/W, resulting in temperature rise of 76°C over ambient. So, with an ambient temperature of 40°C junction temperature will be 116°C. Hhm, this is quite a bit, isn't it? Can become critical if the cooling is nonideal or the ambient temperature is even higher than 40°C. Is the 1A load current drawn all the time or only temporarily?
