BQ76940: Can bq76940 be used for 7 cell application?

Hi,

I know that bq76940 is suitable for 9 - 15 cell application but now the customer would like to know if bq76940 can be used for 7 cell application. Because they are considering 7 cell and 14 cell application and it will be reasonable for them if they can use bq76940 for both application.

    Hi Satoshi-san,
    The bq76940 will not operate properly with 7 cells. However the bq76930 will mount to the same pattern with proper alignment and selective population of components as was done on the EVM: the bq76930EVM and bq76940EVM share the same PCB. Perhaps that is a solution they could consider.
