WEBENCH® Tools/LM5116: WEBENCH

Part Number: LM5116

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

So, here comes a rant.

After using WEBENCH for the LM5116, I clicked on "Send Feedback".

It seems this opportunity to post is not feedback, but an opportunity to ask a question.

I don't want to ask a question, I want to give feedback.

Here is the feedback:

WEBENCH is SUCH A POOR TOOL, that I went to the trouble of creating a behavioral model of an LM5116 in LTSpice, from first principles (the LM5116 is a great device).

Although the overhead was significant, the results are very satisfying.  I won't be bothering with WEBENCH.

I could start to list all of the things that I don't like about WEBENCH, and all the things that are WRONG with the simulation, and the limited circuit topology, but I am not going to.

That's my feedback, it's not a question.

The best thing TI could do is buy LTSpice, hell, why not just swallow all of AD and LT and be done with it.  Then get serious with proper models and go from there.

  • Hello Richard,

We do appreciate feedback from our customers. You did not mention in your post the specific reason why you were unhappy with WeBench? If you like you can reopen this thread to describe? I will close out for now?

    Kind regards,

    David.
