TPS543B20: Stacked-Mode Question

Part Number: TPS543B20

Hi team,

I'm working on a PCIe card design. I have a 12V input, always present, from the PCIe edge card, as well as an optional 12V input from a PCIe 6-pin aux power connector. PCIe spec allows for up to 2V difference between the two rails and mandates that power be drawn relatively equally from them. I am considering using a pair of TPS544B20s in stacked mode, with the "Master" PVin connected to the PCIe edge card supply, and the "Slave' PVin connected to the aux supply.

I'm guessing that I'd want to connect both VDDs to the primary 12V input. The goal is to have the primary supply function on its own when the primary 12V is present and to have both share equally when primary and aux are present.

Is this something you've seen before? Do you think I can get something like this to work?

Thanks!
