Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76PL455A-Q1, BQ76PL455A,
Hello,
I recently received an EM1402EVM because I wanted to upgrade my current system which only utilizes the passive balancing capabilities of the BQ76Pl455A-Q1 evaluation module. Presently, I am controlling the BQ76PL455A-Q1 through UART communication with a PIC32 microcontroller. So, my question is if I would be able to run the same code on my PIC microcontroller to read cell voltages and AUX signals from the EM1402 board since they both use the BQ76PL455A chip. I have looked through the EM1402EVM (TIDA-00817) schematic, and it seems as though the on-board-connections are very similar if not the same for the BQ76PL455A chip, with the exception of the AUX7 being used by the Switch Matrix circuitry, and the EQx balancing MOSFET gate-driver pins being left unconnected. So, would I able to use the same PIC microcontroller (running the smae code) to poll cell voltages and AUX voltages, and just control the switch matrix circuitry (and the DC-DC converter) for active balancing separately through the 8-pin J2 GPIO header, say with some other controller board (like an FPGA) with SPI?
Thank you in advance,
