Hello,

i build an PCIe carrier boiard for the UP-Core there I build my Platine with this Setting:

the Setting works but the first TPS74401 crashed after a short time and was very hot. After a short discussion I would like to use a current stronger component there.

So i searched for the TPS54331 but the Setting says that i could only use it with 7-28V. What components must I Change to use it with 5V ?

Hi Mario,

First of all, the EN resistors should be changed. As the typical EN threshold is 1.25V, the voltage on EN pin with EVM design is not enough to enable the part.

You can change R1 and R2 according to your expected UVLO voltage.

Another concern is, as VIN is low, loop gain can be lower, which may lead to a stability issue. To solve this, the compensation network may need some change.

I suggest you to try on the WEBENCH. Input your condition, and you can take the schematic as a reference.
