TPS22917: QOD off state leakage current

Part Number: TPS22917
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22951, TPS22971, TPS22990

When the switch is enabled and the QOD output is off (high impedance), what is the leakage current flowing into the QOD pin?

Thanks,

Mark

  • Hi Mark,

Under this condition, the QOD pin is open drain, so the leakage through this pin would be very, very low. Do you have a specific VIN voltage you are wondering about?

    Thanks,

  • I am thinking about using the QOD output to turn on the gate of a PFET. When QOD is open the FET is off, and any leakage shows up as a load to a small coin cell battery, so it needs to be low. Looking at other switches that have open drain outputs (PG's) the off state leakage is usually spec'd but varies a bit. Here are a few:
    TPS22951 PG 1.0uA max
    TPS22971 PG leakage 0.1uA typ, 8.5uA max
    TPS22990 PG leakage 0.5uA max
For this application 1.0uA or less would be OK but 10uA or greater would probably not be OK. Since this isn't in the DS I assume it isn't a tested parameter. Can you provide any guidance on a max leakage number?
    Thanks,
    Mark
