BQ24259: BQ24259 work without battery

Hi Ti sir

My project sometimes doesn't use battery power.

Dose BQ24259 work normally without battery ?

If it work, why ?

    Could I get some more details about your project? If the battery is deeply discharged, the system will turn on without battery power due to the NVDC Power Path Management.

    Hey Terry,

    It will work without a battery as long as an input source (wall adapter, USB, DC supply, etc) is applied.

    I works because of the NVDC (Narrow VDC) charging architecture, that regulates the system voltage even with a dead/depleted battery while also charging.

    You will want to check section 8.3.2.1 Narrow VDC Architecture in the datasheet for more details.
