TPS54620: Inverting circuit output schottky

I would like to ask about TPS54620 inverting circuit.
There is no description about schottky diode between GND and -Vout on the App report "SLVA458B".

However PMP7395 or PMP7396 schematic has schottky diode between GND and -Vout.
Must we put this diode?

I know the designer of PMP7395 and PMP7396 personally. I probably know the reason already, but I will ask him.

Thank you for your reply.
I think this diode is put for protection of over absolute maximum voltage.
I would like to know that this diode is the must components or not.

It is a clamp diode to keep the negative voltage from going more than a diode drop positive. I have designed inverting buck boost without it. If you feel that you need the extra protection you can include it.
