TPS65217CEVM: Required list of parametric and functional test to be carried out on PMIC

Part Number: TPS65217CEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65217

Hi

This is K Harshavardhan.

1. I kindly request you to provide the basic parameters has to be checked/ Tested in TPS65217CEVM.

2. What are the functional test required in EVM.

3. GIve us brief description on the application of the PMIC, like ADAS or anything.

  • The TPS65217 is primarily used in battery-powered applications that are also using the AM335x Sitara processor with a WLED backlight panel.

It is not typically used in ADAS built into the vehicle (which requires AEC-Q100 qualification), but it is frequently used in 3rd-party add-ons for vehicles (some people might call these Driver Assist) that do not require an extended temperature range. An example would be GPS Navigation systems, "Black-box" driver monitoring, eCall SOS systems, dash-cams, etc.

The tests you need to perform on the EVM would depend on the application. If the WLED driver is un-used, then it does not need to be tested. Same for the battery charger. At a minimum, you should test each DC-DC converter and LDO at light load, full load, and the worst-case transient response (load step) to see if it meets your system requirement.
