LP8758-E0: Recommended for input ripple

Part Number: LP8758-E0

Hi,

Our customers are considering reduction of input filters to reduce parts, and filters are prepared for each channel.
They are trying to make them 2ch in common.

Is there a recommended configuration to share 2 ch at a time from the viewpoint of input ripple?
Looking at data sheet P.15, I think that B0 and B2, B1 and B3 are good for input ripple, is it correct?

The specification condition of each channel is as follows.
+ 1.55 V: 1.6 A max
+ 1.05 V: 1.8 A max
+ 0.9 V: 1.1 A max
+ 2.0 V: 0.7 A max

Could you give me advice?

Best regards,
Yuto Sakai

  • Hi Yuto,
The input filter caps don't have to be placed for each channel as long as they have exact same input tighted together very closely. If you do want to separate them into 2ch sharing; then according to your load current, making more sense to share 1.6A with 1.1A and 1.8A with 0.7A.
Please let's know if you have more questions.

    Thanks!
    Phil
