LM5050-1: LM5050 6 MOS tubes in parallel VGS =5v

Part Number: LM5050-1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2413

Now, the standard circuit in the lm5050 data manual finds that the gs-driven voltage provided by the chip is not high enough,

only 5v (13.8v145a load, and the chip drives 6 1.4m euro 40vmosfet), resulting in high mosfet conduction resistance and power consumption.

Is there a remedy, or an alternative chip, for driving up to 10v or more?

  • Hi

Vgs is controlled by the LM5050 in order to regulate Vds of MOSFET to 22mV.
So, gate voltage will not be fully enhanced.

If you would require a device that does not do regulation of Vds, please have a loop at TPS2413 device.
This can work up to 16V absolute maximum.

    Kari.
