BQ27510-G3: bq34z100g1 sealed to unsealed and unsealed to full keys are 000000 ?

Part Number: BQ27510-G3
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hello,

I have the same problem with bq27510-g3.

how can I return this to default (FFFFFFFF and 36720414)

Thanks

Stéphane

  • Hi Stephane,
I am not sure i understand what your question is. Did you change the unseal and full acess codes of your gauge. If you did, the same way you changed them, that is the same way you need to change them to the default values. If you want to return the chip to the default state then you need to program the default firmware found in the link here.

  • Hi Onyx,

I changed by mistake the security code (sealed to unsealed and unsealed to full).

sealed to unsealed code : 00000000

    unsealed to full : 00000000

When i want to program the default firmware, with gaugestudio : the gaugestudio stay blocked on the Windows "Windows status text"

When i want to change the unsealed to full code : 00000000 --> FFFFFFFF, i have the message "Updating" and "Data Memory Update failed"

With bqstudio, i can't also modify the security code.

I can read the data memory and modify but i can't download .srec file

    Thanks for your help

    Stéphane

  • Stephane,
How did you change the codes? Modifying the codes isn't some thing done by mistake. It isnt as simple as modifying the data flash parameters. i would suggest changing the IC on the board.

Also, can you send a screen shot of the registers as shown on bqstudio

    thanks

  • Hi Onyx,

I suppose i did "Write All" with bqstudio with security code 00000000.

Please find screen shot with bqstudio and gaugestudio.

You can see security code 00000000.

You can see that the programming failed when i want to load the original firmware bq27510-G3_4_00.srec

You can see that the security code will not modified and see "Updating"

    Thanks

  • Hi Stephane,
Unsealing the gauge is a two step process. You first have to send the unseal commands and then send the full access commands. From your screen shot, I see that you sent the unseal command but not the Full Acess command. you can see the FAS flag is set. You need to send the FullAcess command to fully unseal the gauge and only then will you be able to program the gauge.
    thanks
