LP8860-Q1: Start-up sequence

Part Number: LP8860-Q1

Hello TI Experts,

I am now using LP8860,and meet with a problem that the screem will flicker if input voltage decrease to 10V

and I measure the sequency, I find out that VDD is later than PIN19 VDDIO/EN~ it's quite opposite as the datasheet described~

What cause this phenomenon?  I cut oft the link between EN and MCU, it's also earlier than VDD~

  • Hi,

Both VDD and VDDIO/EN are not generated by LP8860, It's both input to LP8860 and supplied by external power source. So the power up sequency of VDD and VDDIO/EN is basically controlled by external source not LP8860 itself.

Based on your input for flicker, I have couple suggestion for you to debug.

    1. If you are using TI EVM for this test, please follow exactly setup as EVM user guide to make sure the normal operation at typically application setup.

    2. Then you can setup the EVM to your personal setup. But as I mentioned before you need to make sure you burn the EEPROM correctly. Pleaes refer to AN LP8860-Q1 End-of-Line Programming guide of EEPROM for detail instructions.

    3. If you are testing LP8860 in your designed PCB, I would suggest you to contact TI sales or FAE to reach us for further help for debug. Thank  you.

    Best regards,

    Xianghao
