BQ35100: GE and REGIN relationship

Hi Team,

One quick question, if coin cell is not install, so VBAT has no voltage. If MCU sets a HIGH to GE pin, will we see 2.5V happen at VBAT pin below?

If yes, can I understand how it happen? Thanks.

Hi Andrew,
I do not see how the gauge will be powered on if you do not have the cell connected to vbat node. Regin powers the chip and vbat is for voltage measurement.

yes, I believe it does. The behaviour you described above, are you actually seeing it?

Hi Onyx

Yes, when customer removed the device or Set GE pin as open-drain, VBAT will no longer shows 2.5V. So I just want to find the root cause and close this case, If it sounds reasonable to you ?

So when GE is ON. REGIN and REG25 will be connected internally? I just try to understand why seeing 2.5V at VBAT. thanks
