TLV431: Is floating anode OK?

I need a circuit to limit the voltage excursion in an A/D input. The A/D alowed input voltage range goes from -0.1V to 1.9V. Below a draft of the circuit I am thinking of to solve this need:

The use of the reference on the right side is straightforward. My question is if it is OK to use the TLV431 (or LMV431 for that matter) like the left size i.e. with the anode floating. I am aware I would need to use a 1uF capacitor for each (the draft was drawn with LMV431 in mind).

    Hi Elder Costa,

    I tested the left circuit in TINA-TI and it works as expected. I do not see any issues with this circuit on the left. It is very common to see our shunt voltage references to be floating.

    Keep in mind the TLV431 is a 1.25V device. We also offer the LM4041 which is a 1.225V device that is only 2 pins and is stable with all capacitor values and this can simplify your design.
