Controllers don't have an absolute maximum current. The maximum current will most likely be determined by either the minimum efficiency at maximum load or the maximum power dissipation accepted by the FET.

The drive strength is not recommended for applications which require more than 30A as efficiency and FET requirements will likely not be met. Efficiency can be estimated using tools such as the NEXFET power loss calculator: the www.ti.com/.../mosfet-loss-calc
