TPS7A7100: 0.9V VOUT LDO

Part Number: TPS7A7100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A84A

Hello,

I am looking for the same IC (TPS7A7100), but with digitally programmable output. I mean, we want to control the output voltage using digital signal from FPGA. If the option (digitally programmable output) is not available for this IC, then can you suggest something else.

I tried searching on your website and found TPS7A84A which can be programmed by either grounding the programming pins or making it open. We cannot control this with the help of FPGA.

Your help will be appreciated here.

Thank you

  • Hi Premsagar,

The ANYOUT LDOs such as TPS7A84A are likely your best options to use for a digitally programmable output; however, you may need to use external circuitry to interface between your FPGA and the ANYOUT pins.  The ANYOUT pins are simply one side of an internal resistor.  The other side of the resistor is tied to FB.  As such, when the ANYOUT pin is tied to GND, the resistor is part of the internal resistor divider, but when the ANYOUT pin is floated (or tied to a hi-z node) the resistor is not in the resistor divider.

This allows us to control the output of the LDO by simply shorting/floating the ANYOUT pins to achieve the desired output voltage.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan
