LMR23610: BOOT-SW shorted

Our customer has the following question.

In case that BOOT to SW is shorted, could it be led to device damage while operating?

As the configuration, Input=24V, Output=3V/0.3A.

I suppose that the device would not be damaged because the voltage for high side gate driver would not be supplied and the device would not work.

Is it correct?

Or could it be possible to lead to device damage?

It is possible that the internal VCC LDO will
be damaged if the BOOT is shorted to SW, when the low side MOSFET turns on.

Thank you for your reply.
I guess the device would be heated if LDO flows maximum output through low side FET.

Could it be possible to be smoked or fired from the device?
Could it be possible to enter thermal shutdown before LDO takes damage?

It may be possible that some of the above mentioned effects could be seen.
