TLV733P: The Absolute Maximum Ratings of EN Pin

Hi,

from the datasheet, the absolute maximum ratings of EN pin is Vin+0.3

1. Is this means 6V+0.3 or real Vin+0.3?

2. if it's real Vin+0.3, what's the reason? What is the construction inside?

3. Is it possible work in Vin=0 EN=5V condition?

Hi Chentsu,

The voltage on EN should must not exceed the voltage on IN plus 0.3 V. The internal architecture of TLV733P does not allow for Ven to exceed Vin without risk of damage to the LDO.

If your application requires EN = 5 V while Vin = 0, TLV733P should not be used. If you would like help selecting a suitable LDO for your application, please provide the application requirements (Vin, Vout, Iout, package, etc).

Hi Ryan,

Thank you, from datasheet I know the the absolute maximum ratings of EN pin is Vin+0.3

I just want that what kind of internal architecture could cause IC damage in this condition.
Form block diagram in datasheet, I can't see anything could damage IC if EN highier than Vin.
Could you please help to explain it?

Hi Chentsu,

The ESD protection on IN and EN can be damaged if Ven were to exceed Vin. If you need Ven to be higher than Vin for your application, a different LDO should be used.
