BQ78350-R1: Correct setting to sync RC to FCC and calibrate RSOC to 100%

Part Number: BQ78350-R1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78350

Hello,

I'm quite familiar with other older CEDV gauges, and the  capacity synchronization to FCC (with RSOC=100%) at charge termination, by reaching a voltage and current threshold during charge current tapering down.

This feature is handy and always present the battery at 100% to the user.

On studying a new pack based on bq78350-r2 I have difficulty to reach the same sync effect and RSOC does not reach 100%.

I have set CEDV Gauging Configuration in this way:
CCT=1
CSYNC=1
SC=1
And Advanced Charging Algorithm - Termination Config in this way:
Charge Term Taper Current: 40mA (meaning 400mA, because I have IPSCALE0 =1)
Charge Term Voltage = 100mV

With such settings, I expect that when cell voltages are > 4100mV (they have charging voltage = 4200mV), and charging current taper down below 400mA (read as 40mA because of IPSCALE), after 80seconds I have the Valid Charge termination and the capacity synchronization.

This instead does not happen: a pack just reset, showing a RSOC of 84%, with cell voltages around ~4100mV is placed in charge with a simple CCCV charger just set to 4200mV er cell current limited to 3A (the pack is a 7S2P). Cells start charging, current slowly taper down to almost zero, but not FC and TC are set and no RSCO synced to 100%.

What I'm doing wrong ?
I remember other CEDV gauges syncing correctly in such conditions...

Thanks in advance

Pietro
