LM27402SQEVAL: PCB Design Files

Part Number: LM27402SQEVAL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM27402

Hi,

We are planning to evaluate and use the LM27402 buck controller on system. Is the PCB layout design files of the evaluation board (LM27402SQEVAL) available?

Regards,

Saeedeh

  • Saeedeh,

The pcb layout was done on an old cad package and is not available. The gerber files are available if needed. Please follow the datasheet layout recommendation and the various TI design available.

    Regards,

    Mathew

  • Hi Mathew,
Thanks for your reply. On the datasheet, it's recommended to place input/output Capacitors, MOSFETs, and output Inductor on the top side, and the IC and small signal components on the bottom side. I have a very noise and heat sensitive sensor placed on top of this board with a backplate in between. Based on these information, do you recommended the layout suggested on the datasheet? If yes, which side is better to be facing to the sensor/backplate to minimize the transferred noise and heat from the eval board to my sensor? Or it's better to place all the components on the side away from my sensor?
Would you also send me the Gerbers?

    Regards,
    Saeedeh
  • Hi,

I would recommend keeping all the components on the side away from the sensor if it is very sensitive. The EVM layout recommendation takes into consideration a small total solution size also and hence the recommendations as is. I am in the process of getting the gerber files from the EVM team and will send it asap.

    Regards,

    Mathew
