LM5069EVAL: Insertion delay and restart time

Part Number: LM5069EVAL

Hi,

I have the LM5069EVAL evaluation board and I am using current limit to 10A (+28V).

I have a couple of question:

  1. The insertion delay (in the LM5069EVAL) is 600ms – why? Can I change it to 200ms.
  2. The restart time is 7.7 seconds – is it also the wake up time after power is inserted? What is the minimum time for restart?

Thanks,

  • Hi Attar,

    Welcome to E2E!

1A) You can decrease the insertion delay by decreasing the Timer capacitance C8 value
2A) Restart time is the interval from the fault shutdown moment to the next power-up retry moment. This time depends on the C8 value.

    Refer equation 3, 5 in www.ti.com/.../snva184b.pdf

Let me know your system requirements and application.

    Best Regards,
    Rakesh
