LM5085: LM5085 FB Pin Pre-Biased to ~1.24V

Part Number: LM5085

Dear DC/DC Team,

We have a unique circuit.   Can ~1.24V be fed back into the FB pin of the LM5085 when the rest of the IC is off or powerless.  Question is, will this damage the IC in anyway or is this fine to do?

Will it impact the soft-start?

Thank You!

  • It is possible that an ESD diode may turn on under this condition. If the current could be limited to 100uA or so, then
it is possible that no deleterious effects would be produced. However, TI can not recommend placing a voltage on the FB pin
without a voltage on the VIN pin.
