LM25141: LM25141

Part Number: LM25141
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25088, LM3151, LM3152, LM3153

Hi,

Can anyone tell me is there is any internal pull-down on EN pin?

I'm not getting any information in datasheet.

If no internal pull-down, please suggest me other IC. Requirement is as follows,

1. Input voltage range (3-60V)

2. Output voltage : 3.3 (Fixed output - Must)

3. Output current : 10A

4.  Internal pull-down on EN pin

  • Guru,

EN should not be floated on the LM25141. There is no dedicated pull-up or down to guarantee a state.

Lots of similar parts are like this but you can check out LM25088 which has an internal pull-up. I don't believe we have a part that meets your specs with an internal pull-down on EN.

Of course you can always use an external resistor to pull down to GND.

  • Guru,

Thanks for the LM25141 question about the EN input.  There is no internal pull-down on the EN input.  The EN input is a logic level, >2.0V enables the controller. 0.8V turns the LM25141 off.    I looked on TI.com and I could not find a similar part that meets your requirements with an internal pull-down.  Is there a reason that you don't want to add an external resistor?  Most automotive customer eith connect the EN pin the  car battery, or controll the turn-on and turn-ff with a microprocessor.

  • Hi Terry ,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Internal pull-down or pull-up is our customer request.

Suppose, if no internal pull-up/pull-down and EN pin is open, we don't have control on IC and we don't know the IC behavior.

So we want to eliminate this issue.

As you mentioned, we are controlling this IC EN pin through car battery supply.

    Best Regards,

    Guru

  • Hi Sam,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Internal pull-up also OK but it should be fixed output.

we don't want to use Feedback resistor to adjust the output voltage.

  • Guru,

In that case your best bet would be LM3151, LM3152, or LM3153.

    1. Input voltage range 6-42V, 6-33V, 6-42V

    2. Output voltage : 3.3V

    3. Output current : up to 12A

    4.  Internal pull-up on EN pin

That's the closest we've got for your specs.
