The bq24050 has a minimum number of external component which make layout relatively easy. Device is a linear regulator similar to an LDO and can have high thermal dissipation depending on input to output voltage drop and output current. Good thermal layout is required. The Data Sheet has a section on layout that shows this. Also see the EVM users guide for more info.
