Hi Expert,
I have the question about LP5912. If the VIN is 3.2V, Vout is 2.8V, the Vin - Vout = 0.4V, if the output current is 500mA, how about the Vdrop? (Because I see the datasheet shows that need 0.5V in Vin and Vout.)
Can you help it? Thanks!

Hi Jerry,
The dropout voltage for LP5912 is specified in the Electrical Characteristics table as a maximum of 250 mV at 500 mA. As you have 400 mV of headroom (Vin - Vout), you have adequate headroom in order to maintain regulation.
Additional headroom will improve certain performance characteristics such as PSRR; however, in order to maintain regulation, only 250 mV is required.
Very Respectfully,
Ryan
