BQ25504EVM-674: Not seeing signal outputs that the procedure demonstrates

Part Number: BQ25504EVM-674

Hello,

I recently received and started working on the eval board stated in the title, following the procedure as I go. However, I am encountering an issue between what I am seeing in my Dewesoft vs what the procedure states from an output prospective. We are not getting the Vstore that is anticipated and it appears that probing TP16 on the same run is a direct contributor to the effect that we see. I attached a couple photos showing what our outputs look like with and without TP16 being probed. When TP16 isnt probed we are seeing the voltage as it should react, but that voltage drops significantly when TP16 is probed. Additionally, that PWM is in no reflection to the one that is in our procedure. Could you provide some insight as to what might be happening and how I could possible go about solving my issue?

  • Hello Steven,

Typically probes has its own capacitance. It is likely that the capacitance on your probe is causing the issue.
From your waveform. looks like VBAT, VSTOR, and VIN match the user guide waveform. If the device not function properly, you would not see the same behavior.
