Could you please confirm the below?

-In order to interface with a PC via USB to the BQ25895EVM-664 then an EV2300/EV2400 is mandatory. Correct?
Or is there a way to directly interface to the USB D+/D- pins of the BQ25895EVM-664 to connect to a PC directly?

-I assume that any I2C compatible MCU (with an I2C Master capability and correct IO levels) can interface to the BQ25895EVM-664.
Do we have some code examples to interface via I2C to read/write the register? Example for MSP432 or CC26xx or other TI MCUs?

EV2300/EV2400 service the as the interface of USB / I2C. EV2300/EV2400 is not mandatory. The case using I2C of a MCU as you mentioned is also an option.

There is some third-party driver support here: chromium.googlesource.com/.../charger
Please be advised that the code is not supported by TI.

Any I2C adaptor similar to EV2300 or EV2400 may interface with the bq25895 EVM. If user would like to make use of the bqStudio GUI when evaluating bq25895 EVM, EV2300/EV2400 has to be used.
