TPS61282: Need to improve the TPS61282D Vout ripple

Part Number: TPS61282

Hi,

Customer reported big Vout ripple issue and the description as below.

Found an unexpected result that VOUT will be lower than 3.5V if dynamic heavy loading at VIN.

We used the experiment as below diagram to check if TPS61282 could maintain voltage level at 3.5V when dynamic loading max 8A to cause its 4V power source has drop.

Why can’t TPS61282D VOUT keep 3.5V by its internal DC/DC boost even if VIN < 3.5V?   This part only supports stable voltage switch (I mean, e.g. change 4V to 3V needs smoothly and not transient)?

Our experiment also considered transient loading at VIN, besides transient loading at VOUT.

Min VIN 3.048V should be fine for IC operation since TPS61282D support VIN range (2.3V~ 4.8V), but the captured waveform looks the line regulation is not good. Any suggestion to improve it?

Schematic as below.

Best regards,

Randy Chen
