BQ51013B: Temperature control (pin TS/CTRL)

Part Number: BQ51013B

Hi,

I am trying to set Temperature Sense Resistor Network on BQ51013b on pin TS/CTRL. Let's say I would like to set T_cold = -10°C and T_hot=60°C. I choose an NTC with the following parameters:

- B = 4000k (As far as I understand it, the B value is related to 25/100, i.e. the relationship of T1 = 25 to T2 = 100... right?)

- R @ 25°C = 10k

what I am struggling to understand is how do you calculate the values of R1 and R3. Yes, you do it with the equation 3, page 22 of the datasheet (www.ti.com/.../bq51013b.pdf), but the problem is, the Vcold and Vhot values are also unknown. That makes 2 equations with 4 unknowns. Can we readout the values of Vcold and Vhot from some graph or how do we get them before calculating R1 and R3? Or do we just set random R1 and R3 and just calculate Rntc_cold and Rntc_hot thus setting different voltage thresholds for the same temperature thresholds? ...

Kind Regards,

Den
