Hello E2E team,
I need to evaluate the MTTFd of my equipement and for that I need your help.
The MTTFd is evaluated according the SN29500.
Can you complete the attached file ?
Thank you for your help,
Best regards,
Bertrand.

TI does not provide MTTFd for our semiconductors. The suppliers that provide MTTFd for components are for safety system applications like, alarms, emergency stop switches, pneumatic shut off values, relays.
ISO 13849-1:2015 Annex C.5 uses the assumption that in the absence of data for semiconductors and integrated circuits that 50% of failures can be considered safe and 50% of failures can be considered dangerous. With that assumption the conversion from MTTF to MTTFd is simple.
MTTFd is twice MTTF. So if MTTF is 1.578*10^8 hrs, then MTTFd is 3.156*10^8 hrs.
MTBF and MTTF are often considered interchangeable for a semiconductor and can be found here for each TI part number: www.ti.com/.../estimator.tsp
For SN29500 FIT rate estimation on LM5165, please use SN29500-2:2010 Table 5 for ASIC, Column: 5k-50K transistors, Row analog/mixed for ref FIT rate and temperature. The IC datasheet has information for the package thermal resistance and power dissipation to be able to estimate the rise in junction temperature to assume for the application.
